How to Find MAC Addresses
Devices that need to be manually added to the network will need to be registered with their MAC addresses. A MAC address is a 12‑digit hexadecimal number (i.e., only contains numbers 0-9 and letters A-F), with a colon separating every two digits (e.g., 2C:54:91:88:C9:E3). Learn how to locate MAC addresses for various devices below.
Note: Devices may include two separate MAC addresses: one for wireless and one for wired (may be called LAN, ethernet, or cable). We recommend using wired connections when possible, so please submit the wired MAC addresses when registering your device and use an ethernet cable to connect to the network. If a device doesn't have a wired connection available, then a wireless MAC address can be submitted and the device can be connected to the Wi-Fi. |
