Clear Bag Policy

Kentucky State University Police Department has instituted a clear bag policy until further notice for all University events.

Each spectator will be permitted to carry one large clear bag, either a one gallon ziploc style bag or a 12”x6”x12” clear bag or a small clear clutch that does not exceed 4.5”x6.5”. A clear bag shall be clear from top to bottom and up to a 2” trim/border on the bag is genreally acceptable. Non- compliants bags (empty or not) may not be carried inside a complaint clear bag. Backpacks and drawstring bags, even if they are clear, will not be permitted.

All bags will be searched.

How does this improve public saftey?

  • The Clear bag policy improves public saftey by making bags easily searchable and reduces the possiblity of a faulty search.

What about camera bags or computer bags?

  • Cameras or computer devise must be carried in by hand. (Unless given proper consent by both the athletic and police department).

What about Diaper Bags?

  • Diaper bags and non-medically necessary items for babies and young children must be carried in clear bags.

Each Individual is allowed to bring in one clear bag.

Can I bring in seat cushions?

  • Individuals may bring in seat cushions or bleacher chairs, but those items are subject to search.

Kentucky State University Police and security will not hold bags or other non permittable items for the duration of the game. All prohibited items must be returned to the owners vehicle.


Prohibited items for sporting events

Kentucky State University Police Department in conjunction with the Athletics department has assembled a list of prohibited items for all sporting events.

Kentucky State University has implemented a clear bag policy. Kentucky State University Police and Security personnel will search all bags and use portable metal detector devices on each spectator. All prohibited items must be returned to the owners vehicle before entry to the game area.

  • Weapons of Any Type* Banners
  • Ski masks or other face coverings
  • Illegal substances
  • Outside Food and Beverage
  • Pets / animals**
  • Beach Balls
  • Laser Pointers/pens
  • Baby Seats or Carriers
  • Video or Audio Recorders
  • Cameras with detachable lenses
  • Selfie Sticks
  • Unauthorized noisemakers
  • Stadium seats in excess of 18″ wide or stadium seats with hard plastic or metal parts.
  • Fireworks
  • Frisbees
  • Hoverboards
