Financial Aid Award Notifications
HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED ABOUT MY FINANCIAL AID?
Please note: Historically, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for a new academic year has been available on October 1st annually at www.studentaid.gov. However, due to the recent changes with the new FAFSA Simplification, the availability of the next academic year FAFSA may not be until January 1st. Please monitor your personal and KYSU email for all updates for our office and the Department of Education for the release date of the FAFSA for next academic year. The priority date for returning students receiving academic scholarships at KYSU is April 1st annually. The deadline to submit a FAFSA and any required documents to the financial aid office is April 1st annually.
If you have filed a FAFSA for the current academic year and awarded federal, state and/or institutional aid, the Financial Aid Office will notify you through Kentucky State University’s Wired system. Award notifications will not occur if you have not been admitted or have an incomplete financial aid file.
Your WIRED Account at Kentucky State University is the portal the Financial Aid Office uses to notify students of their financial aid status as well as financial aid awards. This portal gives you access to all of your student information. Admitted students with valid a FAFSA on file for the academic year can view their financial aid status and awards by logging into the WIRED Portal.
