The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education Program is an undergraduate program that prepares teacher candidates to fill positions in schools, Head Start programs, day care centers, or family day care homes, hospitals, recreation centers or other child-oriented businesses.  Thus, teacher candidates in this program acquire the knowledge bases from multiple disciplines and helps them integrate those viewpoints into one that is functional for planning programs for young children (with and without disabilities), and their families. The final professional experience (student teaching) is the culminating experience for teacher candidates in this program requiring them to analyze, synthesize, and apply information from the various disciplines.

The program is aligned with the Kentucky Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education Standards, National Association for the Education of Young Children Teacher Standards, Common Core Academic Standards, and Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board Themes.
