The Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education Program leads to an initial certification upon the successful completion of the Kentucky Teacher Internship Program (KTIP). The program is designed for the candidate to earn a Statement of Eligibility. Successful completion of the candidate’s program plan (professional and content) fulfills the requirements for the Kentucky Teacher Standards, Placement Patterns of KYSU Completers, Kentucky Elementary Standards, and the American Education of Children International.

The goal of Kentucky State University’s Elementary Education Program is to provide appropriate learning experiences to meet the diverse needs, capabilities, and interests of elementary students. The program is designed to prepare candidates in acquiring knowledge, skills, dispositions, and technology skills within a learning environment focused on active involvement and integrated learning activities.
