Volunteers play a vital role in the success of the Kentucky State University 4-H program.  4-H relies on dedicated volunteers to promote the development of youth into productive, self-directing, and responsible citizens.  Volunteers contribute their time in a variety of ways such as:

  • Plan or help at an event
  • Serve on an advisory board
  • Be a Mentor
  • Lead a 4-H Club
  • Teach a Skill
  • Judge a County or State Event
  • Be a Project Leader

Kentucky State University 4-H Youth Development Program takes seriously its obligation to provide a safe environment for all person involved in volunteer activities.  To learn more about volunteer opportunities, you must complete and submit a 4-H Volunteer Packet to your local County Extension Office or the Rosenwald Center for 4-H Youth Development.


4-H Tech Wizards

4-H Tech Wizards is a youth development and mentoring program designed to provide opportunities to underserved youth.  Tech Wizards connect youth grades 4-12, with mentors through after school programs.  Kentucky State University Tech Wizards program uses small group mentoring approach for youth in Louisville, Kentucky.  Each site focuses on experiential technology learning and life skills in areas such as website development, video productions, robotics, technology, urban agriculture. In partnership with local community organizations, the after school program incorporate existing 4-H STEM curriculum and youth gain practical skills to give back to their communities by participating in a service learning project.
