Kentucky State University (KSU) celebrated its annual Green and Gold Day on February 20, 2025. Supporters from all walks of life – alumni, students, legislators, and community members – gathered in the Capitol Mezzanine, sporting their green and gold in solidarity with the University.

“I am deeply encouraged by the advocacy of our alumni, students, legislators, and community members who have joined us not only just today, but also throughout the year,” said KSU President Dr. Koffi C. Akakpo. “The support of the community testifies to the positive impact KSU has on communities throughout the Commonwealth.”

Green and Gold Day provides a unique opportunity for KSU students, alumni, faculty, staff, and supporters to meet with legislators and show their appreciation for their continued support. This annual event honors the important heritage of Kentucky State University and its unity with the city of Frankfort and the Commonwealth of Kentucky
