Bio:

Dr. Chowdhury is an agricultural engineer specializing in smart farming technologies and soilless plant culture. He earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural Machinery Engineering from Chungnam National University, Republic of Korea, in 2020. After graduation, he worked as a postdoctoral research scientist at the University of California, Davis, and Ohio State University. As an Assistant Professor at Kentucky State University, Dr. Chowdhury strives to invent new technology to support small-scale and limited-resource farmers, as well as commercial farms in Kentucky. His past and ongoing research focuses on greenhouse technology, hydroponics, nutrient dynamics, liquid organic fertilizer, substrate, vertical farming, and the automation of controlled environment agriculture (CEA) facilities. Dr. Chowdhury is also committed to educating the next generation of agricultural and environmental scientists and serves the community through his teaching, extension, and outreach efforts.
