THOrobreds leading for impact

Thorobreds Leading for Impact is the campaign to ensure no student leaves Kentucky State University due to his or her inability to close the financial gap and to support KSU Operations for their success. Additionally, the campaign funds generated will support University infrastructure and expansion. Thorobreds Leading for Impact is all about improving the lives of our students and preparing future leaders. Your gift, no matter the amount is needed every year. The amount you give may vary, but your commitment to giving every year provides the sustainable base of support that allows Kentucky State to be the best it can be for our students.

Permanent Alumni Scholarship Fund (PAS)

The Permanent Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in 1990 to serve as the Kentucky State University National Alumni Association’s official vehicle for soliciting funds and for providing scholarships to eligible students attending Kentucky State University.

The PAS Fund was created as an endowment that will allow its principal to stay intact while scholarships are granted from the earned interest. The KSU Foundation serves as custodian of the PAS Fund, and it is administered by the PAS Fund Committee, composed of a management group of eminent alumni. Each year from Homecoming to December 31, all alumni are contacted requesting a contribution. The PAS Fund Honor Roll, highlighted in the enclosed brochure, lists all donors who contributed last fiscal year. In addition to the Annual Giving Levels, the PAS Fund Honor Roll includes the Lifetime Giving Levels.

The Henry E. Cheaney Legacy Brick Program - On Pause

Supporters can honor a legacy and pay tribute to Dr. Henry E. Cheaney by purchasing bricks or plaques at the new plaza. The funds raised from the Cheaney Plaza project will support the construction of a new athletic complex.

Each brick measures 4 in. x 8 in. and can be engraved with the name of a relative or friend or a special message. The bricks will be embedded in the plaza’s walkway, located across from the Carl M. Hill Student Center. Plaques will be displayed along the plaza wall. Each plaque measures 9 in. x 12 in.

Ideas to consider for your plaque design:

  • Highlighting generations of your family who have attended KSU
  • Creating a remembrance memorial honoring a family member, spouse, or friend
  • Listing your organization’s members

For more information about the plaza or to purchase a brick or plaque, call (502) 597-5500.
