Information Technology provides technology-based services that support and enhance the mission of Kentucky State University. We play a leadership role in assisting our students, faculty and staff achieve excellence in their teaching, learning and administration experience. Additionally, the department provides training and consulting concerning technology used or proposed to the campus community.

Downtime Notice

Information Technology will be upgrading vital network equipment during the Thanksgiving and Winter breaks. These upgrades will be replacing outdated network equipment and will complete the second and third phases of a series of upgrades needed to improve network performance and services on KSU’s campus. Please read below for outage dates and system impacts:

December 18th – December 20th

Not Available: During this time, network services including Banner, telephone, voice mail, the internet, wireless, printing, and accessing network drives.

Network equipment and wireless access points are being upgraded in the Student Center, Hume and Jordan. Core network distribution equipment (one device) is being upgraded in ASB, Bradford, Carver, Carver Annex, Hathaway and Jackson.

During this outage, contact the University police’s backup phone number at 502-597-5000.

Available: Blackboard, the KSU website and KSU email will be available if you are not using computers connected to the KSU network.

January 2, 2019 – January 8, 2019

Not Available: Network equipment and WiFi will be upgraded in each Residence halls (with the exception of Whitney M. Young Hall).
