The NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Committee announced on March 8 the selection of the KSU Women’s Basketball Team for a spot in the 2015 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship.
Kentucky State University is celebrating the Thorbrettes’ achievement with a send-off Wednesday, March 11, at noon at the campus’ William Exum Center. The public is invited to join the campus community for a pep rally and autographs from members of the basketball team and coaches. Representatives from the City of Frankfort also will join the celebration with a proclamation declaring March 11 as “KSU’s Women Thorobrettes Basketball Day.” Everyone attending is asked to wear KSU’s school colors – green and gold.
The Thorobrettes will be accompanied out of the city by a motorcade as they travel to Jackson, Tenn. KSU’s women’s team (22-5), ranked as the South Region’s No. 7 seed, will face the No. 2 seed Nova Southeastern University (24-5) at 2:30 p.m. (CT) Friday, March 13, at Union University’s Fred Delay Gymnasium. The Thorobrettes will compete among a field of 64 teams.
