First & Second Year Experience

Transition Services provides transitional support to lead the development, implementation, monitoring and assessment of all first year, second year, and transitional programs to help students to acclimate to campus and college life, such as workshops, seminars and peer mentoring intiatives. The office will:

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to facilitate connections between students and KSU staff/faculty.
  • Create opportunties for students to get involved in campus life through organizations and events which foster community and connection.
  • Pair with peer mentors to foster healthy relationships and peer support to navigate academic and personal issues. 
  • Provide seminars and activities that enhance learning and empower students to critical think, and become active, engaged learners.

  • Financial literacy workshops
  • Intro to University Learning
  • Bred Leaders Mentors
  • BredTalks
  • Academic Support

 Students will:

  • Learn about their rights and responsibilites as a KSU student. 
  • Participate in engagement events to assist in community building. 
  • Connect with faculty and staff
  • Learn how to access disability services, health services, counseling, academic advising, and other support services provided by the university.
