An inauguration is a formal ceremony to mark the beginning of a new leader’s term
in office. For universities, it is an important tradition that celebrates the installation
of their president, highlighting the vision and future direction for the institution.

How can I RSVP for the inauguration event?
Thank you for your interest, however, the timeframe to RSVP has closed.
Is the inauguration open to the public?
Yes, while the Oath of Office is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community,
in order for us to properly prepare for the Luncheon, please RSVP. We encourage everyone
to attend and celebrate this significant milestone for KSU.
What is the dress code for the inauguration?
The dress code for the inauguration ceremony is business formal. Delegates and Faculty
should wear academic regalia.
Where can I park on the day of the event?
Delegates and Pass Holders - Please park in Bradford Hall, Betty White or McCullin Hall parking lots. Other Guests - Parking is available in all adjacent lots All parking lots have accessible parking.

Will there be any classes held during inauguration?
Classess will not be held during the Oath of Office. Students, please contact your
faculty member if your course is affected. Faculty should contact the Provost’s Office
for any questions or concerns.
Are partnerships or donations accepted to support the inauguration?
Yes, Dr. Akakpo is committed to raising private support to ensure all students can
matriculate through Kentucky State University. All funds raised after direct expenses
for the inauguration will support the President’s Scholarship Fund. For information
