National award recognizes Kentucky State junior for academic achievement and dedication
to her educational goals
FRANKFORT, Ky. — LillieAnn Hollom, a junior Business Administration major at Kentucky
State University and catcher on the Thorobreds softball team, has received the National
Association of Historically Black Colleges and Universities Title III Administrators,
Inc. Scholarship, a national award recognizing undergraduate students at HBCUs for
academic achievement and commitment to their educational goals.
A native of Snowflake, Arizona, Hollom has built a strong record in the classroom
as well as in athletics. She was also named to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference’s 2024-25 All-Academic Honors list, where she was recognized as a Business
Administration major with a 4.00 GPA.
“This scholarship means a great deal to me, because it reflects that others see the
work I’m putting in and believe in where I’m headed,” Hollom said.
“My Business Administration studies are helping me build experience in entrepreneurship
and sports-related design and promotion, and I want to help create more space for
women in sports leadership," she added. "Kentucky State has challenged me to grow,
and the support I’ve received from my professors and the campus community has helped
prepare me for what comes next.”
The National Association of HBCU Title III Administrators Scholarship supports full-time
undergraduate students at member institutions who meet established academic requirements
and demonstrate continued progress toward their degrees. Hollom’s selection places
her among students from across the country recognized for making the most of the opportunities
available at historically Black colleges and universities.
