Young KSU grad opens store to fill downtown need

Growing up in Detroit, Nocomis Miner II didn’t always know how he’d get himself to school in the morning or where he’d find dinner at night. When he was still in high school, he even lost his brother Robert Cooper Smith to a gunman who mistook him for another man. “Growing up was hard,” said Miner, now 25.
