KSU Educators Bring Their Expertise Across the Globe
KSU Associate Professor, Dr. Swagata Banerjee, provides guest lecture at Vilnius University in Vilnius, Lithuania
Kentucky State University (KSU) Associate Professor of Economics and Finance and
Acting Director of the Center for Economic Education and Financial Literacy, Dr. Swagata
"Ban" Banerjee, was recently invited to give a guest lecture in corporate finance
at Vilnius University's School of Business, a public university located in Vilnius,
Lithuania.
Dr. Banerjee's lecture, "Navigating Funding Decision Making: From Startups to Mature
Businesses," covered identifying funding sources and stages, implementing a decision-making
framework, and contextualizing startups and mature businesses to better understand
the challenges companies face in specific geographic contexts.
“I was excited and honored to be invited to give this lecture. Even though this was
not the first time I had been invited to an international university, it was my first
time in Europe. Their business school is aligned in some ways with ours, especially
because of their focus on entrepreneurship, which made it a professionally rewarding
experience. It was recognition of my position and expertise and an opportunity to
share my knowledge with a new audience, potentially opening doors to new collaborations
and perspectives,” said Dr. Banerjee.
"We are very excited that the Business School at Vilnius University welcomed Dr. Banerjee
to share his expertise with undergraduate students in corporate finance, and we look
forward to continuing to build new partnerships with business departments within and
outside of Kentucky," said Dr. Gary Stratton, Acting Chair of the School of Business.
