KSU Students ‘Wow’ Attendees at Professional Development Program Held by Farm Credit Mid-America
Seven students from Kentucky State University (KSU) attended the Farm Credit Mid-America Success Program for MANRRS Leaders and impressed attendees and event organizers with their professionalism and engagement throughout the program.
This two-day professional development event was held in Louisville, KY by Farm Credit Mid-America and invited student representatives from Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) chapters at KSU, the University of Kentucky, Tennessee State University, and Purdue University.
Students were able to participate in professional development workshops and seminars, network with Farm Credit Mid-America professionals and industry leaders, attend panel discussions, and connect with other MANRRS students.
“My biggest takeaway from this event is that networking is crucial. While hearing from Farm Credit Mid-America employees and touring their corporate office was incredible, the real highlight was connecting with other attendees. Even though we were only there for two days, it was so enjoyable to build professional and friendly relationships with our peers,” said Alecia Daniels, sophomore majoring in Environmental Systems with a minor in Marketing.
“On this trip I learned about more jobs and internships that I didn't even know were out there. Farm Credit Mid-America did a great job in broadening my perspective!” said Jade McCargo, sophomore majoring in Agricultural Business.
“I think the biggest takeaway from this event for me was, if time is taken to listen to the perspectives of other people, you can gain so much traction and advice that will help you excel in a multitude of spaces,” said Jaiya McCargo, sophomore majoring in Environmental Systems and Sciences.
KSU’s student participants included: Alecia Daniels, Sienna Stewart, Jade McCargo, Eric Taylor, Jaiya McCargo, Jasin Burnam, and Javan Crute. Students were prepared by KSU faculty Kristel Smith and Darius Adamson.
“Their engagement and professionalism were truly commendable and left a lasting impression,” said TJ Jamerson, Senior HR Relationship Manager for Farm Credit Mid-America. “Their active participation and insightful contributions during the event not only highlighted their dedication but also positively represented your esteemed University.”
The overwhelmingly positive feedback from this event from both students and event coordinators underscores the University’s commitment to excellence, leadership, and professional development.
