We are excited to announce the new appointment of Dr. David Shabazz as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Shabazz has remained a dedicated Thorobred for over 20 years, serving in various leadership roles and generously sharing his rich knowledge and experiences to enhance student success.

Dr. Shabazz holds a Bachelor of Art from Benedict College, Masters of Mass Communication from the University of South Carolina, Masters of Education from Wake Forest University, and Doctor of Philosophy in Communication from Regent University.

He is a former newspaper and radio journalist and brings this experience to teach broadcasting and sports journalism at KSU. Dr. Shabazz is also the advisor for the student newspaper, Thorobred News.

We are grateful for Dr. Shabazz’s continued commitment and look forward to the exciting impact he will have in his new role.
