At Kentucky State University, Dr. Capriles teaches the following courses: Sensation and Perception, Experimental Psychology, Research Methods, Physiological Psychology, Seminar in Psychology (drug abuse), and General psychology. Before joining the Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences, Dr. Capriles worked in research for more than 10 years. Her main research interest has been the study of the individual differences in the vulnerability to drug abuse. Using the microarrays technology, Dr. Capriles has investigated changes in the gene expression profiles in the Nucleus Accumbens through the different phases of cocaine addiction.
