Coming Soon: Introduction to Winetasting and Wine Appreciation

  • Would you like to increase your confidence when ordering wine in restaurants or choosing from the large variety available at your local wine store?
  • Are you interested in learning more about the techniques surrounding wine making?

Course Description

This introductory course has been designed to give students the basics to further their wine appreciation and will introduce students to wineries from different regions of the world, grape varieties, and traditions involved in wine making. Students are taught how to complement different wines with different foods and cheeses.

Students will also have the opportunity to taste and compare wines from the major wine producing areas from around the world, including France, Italy, the US, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Australia, and Chile. In addition, this course will cover topics such as pairing wine with food, decanting and serving, restaurant wine lists, and proper storage and cellaring.

Classes are limited to 20 people. Six classes will complete a series, after which each student will achieve a certificate of completion.
