The overall goal of the Extension programming in the Rosenwald Center for Families and Children is to provide education, training, and resources to children and their families to the extent that participating children will gain better opportunities for education, nutrition, and overall well-being. Following the tenets of family ecology, the aim will be to educate participating families on the resources available and the impact of positive and negative choices on the outcomes they experience in everyday living.

The “Thursday Night Learning Experience at Rosenwald” offers workshops and seminars, as well as a light dinner, with information on gardening, insects, honeybees, workforce preparedness, healthy eating, emergency preparedness, management of family resources, and many other topics.

Daily activities includes programming in the extension areas of:

  • Nutrition
  • Health and Wellness
