Professor Sipes is the lead for the College for all activities dealing with the ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs) accreditation for Business programs.  Her responsibilities include guiding the faculty to develop effective assessment plans for each academic program offered in the College and developing a manual of policies and procedures for the College of Business and Computer Science.

She began her accounting career working as a Certified Public Accountant for McGladrey and Pullen in Des Moines, Iowa. She spent several years working in industry as a controller for a savings and loan in Dallas, Texas, and controller for a hospital in Moscow, Idaho.

In addition to her years at Kentucky State University, her teaching experience includes four years as an accounting instructor at the University of Idaho and one year teaching business in the Fayette County Public Schools.

At KSU, she has taught Computer Applications in Business, Principles of Accounting I and II, Intermediate Accounting I and II, Federal Income Tax, Auditing, and Advanced Accounting.

Professor Sipes has presented several papers at professional conferences and workshops. Her research interests include online teaching, sustainability and the Global Reporting Initiative, and ethics and taxation. She participates as a site evaluator for the ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs) accreditation process.
