Dr. Ogunade’s Livestock Nutrition Lab is studying how nutritional interventions, including sustainable use of feed additives, impact the gastrointestinal microbiome and metabolome of ruminant to improve efficiency of ruminant production systems. Our research program applies metabolomics and metagenomics to evaluate the mode of action of alternatives to antibiotics and other feed additives, as modulators of the gut microbiome and metabolome, to promote growth efficiency and health of ruminants.
