Dr. Ibukun O.O. Amusan is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics (2013) at Kentucky State University. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics (1999 – 2003) at the University of Swaziland in Kwaluseni, Swaziland. He then went to the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, for a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Applied Mathematics (2004). After the Honors degree, Ibukun Amusan pursued a Master of Science degree in Mathematics of Finance (2005 – 2007) at the University of Cape Town in Cape Town, South Africa. He then moved to Florida State University in Florida, United States, where he did his Ph.D. in Financial Mathematics (2008 – 2013).
Dr. Amusan teaches Mathematics and Developmental Mathematics courses at Kentucky State University. He worked as a teaching assistant at Florida State University and taught Pre-calculus, Calculus and Linear Algebra courses while pursuing his doctoral degree. His research interests include stochastic volatility models and their applications to option pricing. His non-academic interests include soccer amongst others.
