Biography

Professor Erin Wiggins Gilliam has a passion for teaching. She teaches Western Civilization and American history courses. Her specialty is African American Educational history, the history of race relations in the Southern United States. She is a proud graduate of Kentucky State University; where she earned a B.A. in social studies education. She also holds a M.A. in history from the University of Kentucky in 2010. Professor Gilliam is currently a doctoral candidate of history at the University of Kentucky. Her working title of her dissertation Educating Ourselves: Black Baptist Women and the Educational Movement in Kentucky. Vita
