Recently, the federal government announced its intention to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. As a public agency of the Commonwealth, Kentucky State University will comply with all legal guidelines for lawful admission to our academic degree programs.
Kentucky State is an institution of access and opportunity that supports all students and employees. As such, the University will do all it can within the law to enable them to continue their education and employment.
We are aware that some of our students and stakeholders remain hopeful that Congress will come to an effective solution that protects the status of DACA students and employees before March, when the program is set to expire. Please be assured that Kentucky State University is monitoring this dynamic situation and working proactively with members of our Congressional delegation as they work to resolve this important issue.
Be advised that our priority continues to be supporting current and future members of our valued campus community. Kentucky State will comply with all federal and state regulations, including the privacy protections afforded by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
For any person(s) with additional questions, the University has resources on campus available to students and employees for consultation and counseling, including the Office of the General Counsel.
Thank you for your interest in and commitment to Kentucky State University.
