WHAT IS A PCA COUNSELOR?

The Pre-College Academy Counselor serves a dual role as a mentor to freshman and a Resident Assistant. As a mentor, a counselor is responsible for being a model student, ensuring that a student knows what it takes to be a good student, to encourage students to be where they are supposed to be at designated times, and serve as a positive role model on campus.

Persons that are selected to work with Pre-College Academy serve for the duration of the 5-week program. Students can apply each Spring to work with PCA for the upcoming summer. If you have more specific questions or want more information contact University College at pca@kysu.edu.
