The FRIENDS program is a branch of the Office of Educational Support (OES) and serves as an academic resource program that assists non-traditional students who are beginning or continuing their college education. The program is designed to address the holistic development of non-traditional students and help non-traditional students identify and utilize on-campus and off-campus resources that lead to student success, while supporting their retention and satisfaction rates. In addition, the program works in cooperation with on-campus departments and community agencies, providing professional and life-skills workshops, valuable information and opportunities for peer support. In addition, students will discover effective strategies that build confidence and promote balance between school, work, and family responsibilities.

FRIENDS offers the following services:

  • Convenient, easily-accessible study area
  • Academic and life-skills workshops.
  • Alpha Sigma Lambda National Nontraditional Student Honors Society membership
  • The HUB Nontraditional Student organization Membership
  • Nursing Study groups.
  • Peer support/networking.
  • Special events (student and family friendly activities).
  • Information about campus and community services (such as, state certified day care and health services)
