If you plan to make substantial changes to an existing degree program (including online additions), add a new program, eliminate a program, propose a new certificate/credential, offer a new degree level, offer courses at a site other than the main campus, or enter into joint program/degree requirements with another institution, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges likely will require that it be notified, and, in some cases, that it approve the change prior to implementation. SACSCOC addresses these issues in its policy document on substantive change, which outlines the criteria of what constitutes the substantive change and what is required if the changes you propose fall under those standards. A copy of the current SACSCOC “Substantive Change Policy” appears below.
If you are planning such a change, notify the KSU SACSCOC Liasion at (502) 597-6558 or email@example.com who can also answer questions that you may have.
