Introduction to Ballroom and Rhythm Dance Class
Kentucky State University’s Institute of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning is offering ballroom and rhythm dance beginning May 10th 2017, at The Ballroom House in Nicholasville, KY. This is a non-credit course that promises a whole lot of fun while at the same learning ballroom and rhythm techniques for individuals to master at fiestas and parties. This is a class for everyone who has interest in learning how to do the slow waltz or the more rhythmic salsa. First time beginners are encouraged to register early. The class is open to all ages. About the Instructor
Prageeth Hettiarachchi – Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Prageeth moved to Kentucky to pursue a degree in Computer Science at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU). Prageeth grew up with a strong athletic background that lead him to be a nationally acclaimed athlete. At a young age he was drafted to the National Under-19 Cricket Team of Sri Lanka. Prageeth held three National Varsity Track Records in 100m, 200m, and Long Jump. He was then offered to play Cricket professionally for world renowned Nondescript Cricket Club in Sri Lanka. However, he decided to pursue his education at Eastern Kentucky University. While attending, he found his passion for ballroom dancing. Prageeth pursued a career in dance. His outstanding choreography, technique, and discipline have been rewarded with many national and regional titles in both Professional and Pro/Am DanceSport. Today he lives for the excitement of competition and satisfaction from seeing the success of his students.
