Paul Wilhelm has a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Iowa. He has published 24 refereed journal articles (four in 2011-12) and presented several dozen papers and proceedings, primarily in the areas of global competitiveness, corruption, culture, economic freedom, ethics, entrepreneurship, climate change, religion and international business. Paul has sought to include 20 other faculty and graduate students in his research. He has taught courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, including Strategic Management, Contemporary Topics in Management, Operations Management, Human Behavior in Organizations, Survey of Management and Marketing, Research Methods and Policy Analysis, Quantitative Methods of Decision Making, Management Internship, International Business Management, International Marketing, and Management of Operations, Strategic Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship.
Paul has won several grants and his graduate students have won a grant from the 2009 Idea State U Business Concept Competition. Paul’s students in Free Enterprise won Rookie of the Year at the 2011 regional competition. He has served as a judge for the Future Business Leaders of America. Paul is an active paper reviewer, discussant, chair of sessions, and presenter with the Academy of Management and the American Society for Competitiveness. He has also been active with the Association for Private Enterprise Education. He has presented numerous papers in the last five years at the Southern Interdisciplinary Roundtable on African Studies and the American Society for Competitiveness. Paul has several years of small business experience and has been active in community events, winning eight medals over the past three years in two different sports in the Blue Grass State Games. He and his wife Jana won two ribbons in the 2009 Franklin County Fair for their craftsmanship. He is a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and a faculty moderator for the Thorobred Knights International Strategy Games Club. Paul is a Certified Coach, Tournament Director and Lifetime Member of the United Chess Federation. His two sons are both officers in the United States military.
