Dr. Bator began instructing art at Kentucky State University in 1986. He is completing his 27th year as the painting instructor and Art Program Coordinator for the Art Department. John was born in Utica, New York, moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1970, and attended the University of Missouri. Dr. Bator earned three degrees from the University of Missouri including a B.A. in Art, a Masters in Art Education and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Bator instructs all levels of painting, Art 130, Introduction to Art, Art 101, Early Elementary School Art, Art 201, Art History Survey I and Art 202, Art History Survey II. Dr. Bator serves on numerous University, College, and Divisional committees including the Teacher Education Committee. Dr. Bator serves on the Board of Trustees for the Paul Sawyer Public Library.
