Scholarships available for Transfer Students

Whitney Young Jr. Transfer Incentive

This scholarship is eligible for students who are transferring to Kentucky State University from another college or university.  This scholarship is a one-time award ranging from $500-$1,500.  To qualify for this award you must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be admitted to Kentucky State university as a transfer students from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Must have completed at least 12 semester hours of college credit bearing courses
  • 2.8 cumulative college GPA

Thorobred Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who are transferring to Kentucky State University from another college or university.  The value of this scholarship is in-state tuition and course fees for 4 semesters, not including summer (fall/spring only).  To qualify for this scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:

  • Have at least 24 credit hours of college credit bearing courses or completed the Associate Degree
  • 3.0 cumulative college GPA

Green Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who are transferring to Kentucky State University from another college or university.  The value of this scholarship is in-state tuition, course fees, 1/2 room (double), and 1/2 board (students must live on campus for room/board portion) for 4 semesters, not including summer (fall/spring only).  To qualify for this scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 24 completed college credit bearing courses or a completed Associates Degree
  • 3.5 cumulative college GPA

Gold Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who are transferring to Kentucky State University from another college or university.  The value of this scholarship is full tuition, course fees, room (double), board (students must live on campus for room/board portion), and a book stipend for 4 consecutive semesters, not including summer (fall/spring only).  To qualify for this scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 24 completed college credit bearing courses or a completed Associates Degree
  • 3.7 cumulative college GPA
