Academic Regalia

Kentucky State University graduates are required to wear the university approved cap, gown, and hood at commencement and graduation.

You may pre-order your academic regalia online or in-person at the Campus Bookstore with cash, Visa, and/or Mastercard no later than March 28, 2014.  (Contact bookstore for pricing)  Cap and Gown orders may be placed after March 28, 2014, however, late fees will apply.  In addition to late fees, orders made after the aforementioned deadline  must be turned in at the bookstore.

Distribution of caps and gowns will begin on Monday, April 28, 2014, to all students who placed their order by March 28, 2014.  A picture ID will be required for pick-up.

Commencement Attire

All graduates will wear the cap, gown, and hood.  Women should wear dark dresses, shoes and hose, and they should wear small earrings to avoid harm to the ears when hooding.  Men should wear dark trousers, dark shoes, a dress shirt, and a dark tie.

ROTC cadets, on the other hand, who were commissioned in December or who are receiving commissions in May will wear ‘Dress Blues.’

Graduation attire should not be removed at any point during the Ceremonies.
