  • D.O.P.E. (Driving Our Peer Education) is a government funded organization with the goal of reducing HIV/AIDS transmission rates among minorities between transmissions rates and substance abuse on college campuses then take the proper measures to create a means of prevention. However, our duties are not limited to Kentucky State University, we are here to serve the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and are able to do so with our various partnerships in the community.
  • Green Society- is devoted to conserving Earth’s resources and encouraging healthy  living practices to promote a sustainable society. The Green Society is for all Kentucky State University students that are interested in the environment, from working towards solving environmental issues to enjoying the outdoors.
  • KSU Girl’s Rock ( KRG) is an organization on Kentucky State University’s campus that promotes unity among campus women and bridges the gap between our HBCU and community. The purpose and mission of KGR is to boost the moral and confidence of the women of our campus and to also offer a way for us to unite with other women in Frankfort, KY and beyond. We host events, seminars, and also do community service to give back to our beloved HBCU. We also hold an annual award show to award our women for their hard work.
  • Student Ambassadors- is an organization that are members of the University’s Recruitment Executive Committee and recognizes the importance of peer contact in telling the KSU story to prospective students.
  • The OUTlet- Our goal is to provide the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ) community at KSU with an environment that is free of prejudice, bigotry, harassment, and violence based on sexual orientation.  We strive to accomplish this goal by providing the KSU community: education, awareness, advocacy regarding LGBTQ issues in an open and nonjudgmental environment.
  • Da Trap- is the official spirit organization for Kentucky State University that provides morale support to all university sports, clubs, and organizations. This organization is incorporated with enthusiastic, team and school spirit at an all-time high, with individuals who have a passion for upholding Thorobred Pride.
  • Thorobred News- is the official student newspaper of Kentucky State University located in Frankfort, Kentucky. Articles, features, opinions and editorials do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions and editorials do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of the administration and its policies. Thorobred News is written, edited and published by students at Kentucky State University. The newspaper is free to students, staff, faculty, alumni, and the general public.
  • Whitney Young Student Council-The Student Council of the Whitney Young Honors Program is comprised of honors students who collaborate in a small and productive environment to support the college and its students. Members of the council volunteer and hold fundraising events to support its students. The council is an efficient method of communication for the entire college. The members meet weekly and discuss matters relevant to the honors program. It offers a comfortable environment with a small family atmosphere where students can make new friends and develop leadership skills. Various students receive support from the council as they present original papers at the Kentucky Honors Round Table.
  • Apostolic Lighthouse- Apostolic Lighthouse is a Christian campus based ministry here at Kentucky State University. Our goal is to help students develop strong spiritual lives through the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We meet for bible study every Thursday night at 8:15 pm in the ASB auditorium.
  • ProFashionals- The ProFashionals is an on-campus organization erected in 2012 at Kentucky State University. The organization has been  dedicated to making a positive change in the Frankfort, Kentucky community. This organization exists as an outlet for creative souls to thrive through workshops, fashion shows, community service projects, and more.  We strive to build the overall character of all members involved. The ProFashionals seek to promote professionalism in a fashionable way. We strive to build the overall character of all members involved.
  • Baptist Campus Ministry (BCM)- The KSU BCM is about helping students encounter Jesus and experiencing life to the fullest. We aim at the holistic development of the student through: weekly Bible study and fellowship, leadership development, service opportunities, special events, recreation, worship.We meet on Tuesdays for weekly Bible study and fellowship at 7:30pm, early arrivals can enjoy a light snack and conversation prior to bible study starting.  Thursday night at 7pm for games/activities/fellowship. Other small groups are catered around student needs and availability.
  • Golden Girlz Dance Team- The mission of The Golden Girlz Spring Dance Team is to develop and train collegiate women in the area of dance, to build self-esteem and school unity, provide innovative alternatives to scholastic success and to deliver entertainment to both the campus and Frankfort community. Admittance to The Golden Girlz Spring Dance Team is not based on race, color, creed, religious or sexual preference, political affiliation, college classification, or physical attributes.   Dance Clinics and Tryouts are offered every September during fall season to prepare for spring season performances. Since 2005 The Golden Girlz Spring Dance Team has become a highly successful, student-run business organization with its own constitution, funding, and executive board.  Through the hard work of positioning itself within the Frankfort community, The Golden Girlz Spring Dance Team is proud to have established the first ever Youth Summer Dance Camp that services hundreds of youth annually from Franklin and surrounding counties. The Golden Girlz Spring Dance Team serves the Institution through performing at basketball home-games, various student and NPHC Greek-lettered organization pageants, National SIAC Cheer and Dance Competitions, Midnight Madness, and other special events.
  • Student Alumni Association- The Student Alumni Association promotes the highest interest of the University and its alumni. We work to keep the students of the University and its alumni in close touch, and in harmonious cooperation; to perpetuate the highest traditions and ideals of the Kentucky State University Thorobred Spirit.
