How will I be notified about my financial aid?

Please note that priority deadline for students to submit a FAFSA and any other required documents to the financial aid office is April of every school year.  If you have filed a FAFSA and have been awarded federal and/or state aid, then our office will notify you through the Award letter. Award notification will not occur until you have a complete financial aid file and have been admitted to Kentucky State University.

All students will receive a mailed award letter that includes award types and amounts. If the student is a first-time freshman or first-time borrower, the student will need to complete the Entrance Loan Counseling and the Master Promissory Note. Students can access their WIRED account to found out what documents are needed for the financial aid office.

Additional notifications will be sent to students who are still missing required information. These notifications will come in the form of letters sent home and emails to student’s personal accounts (prior to matriculation) and only to their KSU student email account after enrollment.

Awards Letters

How will I be notified about my financial aid?

If you have filed a FAFSA and have been awarded federal and/or state aid, then our office will notify you through the Award letter. Award notification will not occur until you have a complete financial aid file and have been admitted to Kentucky State University.  All students will receive a mailed award letter that includes award types and amounts. New-to-KSU students award letter mailings typically begin in April.  Continuing KSU students award letter mailings typically begin in June (after the evaluation of Satisfactory Academic Progress at the end of Spring semester).

Additional notifications will be sent to students who are missing required information. These notifications will come in the form of letters sent permanent/home address as listed in our processing system, as well as emails to student’s campus email accounts. Students can access the student self-service page, WIRED, to found out what documents are needed for the financial aid office.
