Service Description

Banner is Kentucky State University’s Administrative ERP System and is the primary information system used to conduct the business of the University. The core of the ERP system is made up of the Finance, Financial Aid, Human Resources, Accounts Receivable, and Student modules, and features additional functionality with integration to Course Signals, Blackboard, TouchNet and reporting. Internet Native Banner (INB) allows designated employees to enter and look up information in Banner forms. Training is required for access to Banner INB. Banner Self Service allows employees to view pay stub information, update personal information and view leave balances. Faculty and advisors use Banner Self Service to enter grades and advise students. Students use it to register for classes, check grades, update personal information and check financial aid status.

Services Offered

  • Internet Native Banner (INB).
    • Banner processes: We accept requests for new Banner processes via the helpdesk, but do not custom modify the baseline processes.
    • Banner Account Access is granted at the request of the Banner module managers via the helpdesk. All Banner access requests are submitted to the respective Banner module manager for approval.
    • Banner Account Resets are requests submitted via the helpdesk.
  • Banner Self Service:
    • Banner Self Service web pages we accept requests to modify within the user defined customizations provided on the webpages via the helpdesk, but do not custom modify the baseline web pages.
  • Upgrades and patches (Banner) are installed in the PPRD (pre-production) area based on approved requests from the module managers via the Banner Module Managers committee.
  • Banner production data clones are provided at the request of the Banner module manager for their Banner test area via the helpdesk.
  • New Banner module and service installations are installed in one of the respected module test areas based on approved requests from the module managers via the Banner Module Managers committee.

Service Times

  • Internet Native Banner (INB): Account password reset, 1 business hour; Banner account setup/change, 4 business hours.
  • Banner Self Service: Depends on scope of request, 5 business minutes to 1 business year.
  • Upgrades and patches: Depends on scope of request, 5 business minutes to 1 business year.
  • Banner production data clones: Depends on scope of request, 5 business minutes to 1 business year.
  • New Banner module and service installations: Depends on scope of request, 5 business minutes to 1 business year.

Service Availability

This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the exception of upgrades, maintenance and scheduled outages.
