How do I sign up to receive emergency text messages in the event of bad weather?

KSU encourages all current student, faculty and staff to sign up for the KSU Alert system.

  • Sign up for the KSU alert.
  • If you are unable to sign up, you may contact the IT Help Desk online at www.kysu.edu/helpdesk(on campus only), through email at helpdesk@kysu.edu (24×7, response within 1 business day) or by calling (502) 597-7000 (8:00 am – 4:30 pm M-F). Provide the Help Desk with your name, phone number & cell phone provider (AT&T, Verizon, etc.). We will be glad to assist you.
My child can’t access their e-mail or has forgotten their password. How do I help them?

Passwords are considered confidential information and will not be given to anyone other than the account holder. The best thing a parent can do to help is have the student contact the IT Help Desk at (502) 597-7000. A Help Desk technician will be happy to assist them.

Where do I go to sign into my KSU accounts?

Access to the various KSU accounts can be found from many locations on the KSU website, one place being the KSU website homepage or under KSU Connect.

Can I use my personal email address instead of my KSU email address?

We strongly recommend use of your KSU email address when conducting university business because important messages from the university are often only sent by email.  Also, the IT department will use this address to keep users informed of application updates, warning, training and other technical information.

How do I get my KSU account unlocked?

As a security precaution, after 3 tries of failed password attempts, you will be locked out of your account.

What is my W.I.R.E.D. account information?

Students

New Students

  • Your “User ID” is your student id number.
  • If you apply over the Internet, you will create your own pin during the Admission process.
  • If you did not apply via the Internet, you will need to contact the One-Stop Shop for your pin at (502) 597-5884.

If you forget your PIN, contact the One-Stop Shop at (502) 597-5884.

Continuing Students

  • Your “User ID” is your student id number.
  • Please contact the One-Stop Shop at (502) 597-5884 for login issues.

 

  • Note: It is extremely important that you change all PINS or passwords after you first log in.

What are the KSU password guidelines?

After you initially log in, you will be required to have to change your KSU account password.

  • Passwords must be at least 8 characters in length.
  • Passwords must contain at least one of the following: Upper-case alphabet character (eg. A, C, Q, etc.) or special character (eg. *, %, !, etc.) or numeric character (eg. 1, 2, 4, etc.).
  • Must not have any part of your name in it.
  • Cannot match the last 3 passwords.

Passwords expire every 180 days.

What is my KSU account information?

Students

All student KSU accounts are created when you are enrolled at the university.

  • Your username will be [First Name].[Last Name]
  • Please contact the IT Help Desk at (502) 597-7000 for your initial password.

Faculty and Staff

All faculty and staff KSU accounts are created when you are hired by the university, providing that you have been entered into the Banner system and assigned a KSU ID number.
