The Division of Administration, External Relations and Development promotes and develops support for Kentucky State University. The main functions of the division are fundraising, capital planning and campus maintenance, and constituency relations, including alumni, media and public relations.

The division consists of the offices of Development, Alumni Relations, Communications and Publications, Capital Planning, Construction and Facility Operations, Auxiliary Enterprises, Institutional Research and Effectiveness, and Residence Life.

External Relations and Development is responsible for an integrated approach to fundraising, public relations and communications, and alumni relations. The Development Office’s goal is to enhance the academic vision and priorities of Kentucky State University through fundraising activities and collaboration with the KSU community. Its responsibilities encompass providing comprehensive services that include private gift accounting, donor relations and stewardship.

As a part of Development, Alumni Relations has the responsibility for providing alumni services as well as coordinating alumni programming with the Kentucky State University National Alumni Association.

Communications and Publications’ goals expand the division’s efforts to foster strong lines of communication among the university’s constituents. The area works to increase awareness of the positive impact KSU has on the community, state, region and nation. Its goal is also to enhance KSU’s ability to attract and sustain the resources it needs to continue to be successful.

Capital Planning, Construction and Facility Operations consists of two areas:

  • Capital Planning and Construction
  • Facility Services

The department manages the operations and maintenance for campus facilities, grounds and utilities; engages in project planning; coordinates design, renovation and construction to ensure the ongoing safety, integrity, value and sustainability of KSU’s facilities.

 Institutional Research and Effectiveness participates as an integral part of the university’s planning and evaluation process. Through employing a variety of assessment tools and methods, it provides timely and accurate data as well as assists in developing initiatives and programs that lead to the overall excellence of the university.

 Auxiliary Enterprises oversees the operations of the university’s dining services, bookstore, and graphics and printing services. It also has the responsibility for the university’s Residence Life area. It oversees the operation of all residence halls and promotes and maintains a safe environment where students are free to develop academically and socially.
