Curriculum guides are designed to help students stay on track for timely graduation. In order to remain on track, students must complete the minimum requirements for each tracking semester, known as milestones. Milestones may include successful completion of specified courses and/or attainment of a minimum GPA.
Following the sample academic plan and its milestones will help students stay on track to graduate in four years.

Students must complete a total of 120 credit hours in the specified areas, which includes a Liberal Studies Requirement of 42 semester credit hours. Each Option will require 43 credit hours of required and elective courses, as well as 9 credit hours in supporting courses. Whitney Young Students must complete a total of 121 credit hours in the specified areas; with each Option requiring 43 credit hours of required and elective courses, as well as BIO 111 (4 credits).
Options in Agricultural, Food, Environmental, and Aquaculture Systems each incorporate Required AFE Core courses (AFE 116, 117, 211, 217, 311, 340, 411, 401, and 450), plus four option requirements and three option electives.
An option in Nutritional Sciences and Food Systems requires AFE 404, AFE 405, AFE 416, and AFE 417 plus nine upper level AFE/BIO/FNU electives chosen in consultation with the advisor to support student understanding of Nutritional Sciences and Food Systems.
The major requirements satisfy the natural sciences requirements for the Liberal Studies General Core, as well as the math requirement.
