The Education Curriculum Lab (ECL)
“Welcome to the Education Curriculum Lab (ECL) where we strive to provide the best education resources and services for our future teachers.”
The Education Curriculum Lab occupies the lower floor of Paul G. Blazer Library. The ECL supports the mission of the Paul G. Blazer Library and the Teacher Education Program at Kentucky State University.
We house a collection of both print and non-print materials for use by students and faculty. The ECL’s collection provides diverse resources for use in P-12 classrooms as well as professional resources for P-12 educators. Available curriculum collections include Reference, Africana Resources, Commonwealth of Kentucky Textbook Preview collection, Early Elementary Education, as well as our general collection that boast a variety of print resources, kits, and interactive material perfect for any P-12 classroom.
The Education Curriculum Lab is designed to assist and support college level students and Faculty in their teacher education needs. We offer a variety of services to the Kentucky State University Education and Child Development departments including: Tours (Individual and Group), Reference Services, Class instruction (ECL orientation and Electronic Resources), book reserve for faculty and students, and complementary craft supplies (on a limited basis).

Education Full-Text database
Academic Search Premier
The world’s largest academic multi-disciplinary database, Academic Search Premier provides full text for nearly 4,700 publications, including full text for more than 3,600 peer-reviewed journals. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles. This database is updated on a daily basis via EBSCOhost.
ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center)
ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center, contains more than 2,200 digests along with references for additional information and citations and abstracts from over 1,000 educational and education-related journals.
MAS Ultra- School Edition
Designed specifically for high school libraries, this database provides full text for more than 700 popular general interest and current events publications with information dating as far back as 1975 for key magazines. MAS Ultra – School Edition also provides more than 500 full text pamphlets, 542 full text reference books, 84,074 biographies, 86,135 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 107,135 photos, maps and flags. This database is updated daily via EBSCOhost.
Primary Search provides full text for more than 60 popular, magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text information dates as far back as 1990. This database is updated daily on EBSCOhost.
Middle Search Plus
Middle Search Plus provides full text for 140 popular magazines for middle and junior high school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text information dates as far back as 1990. Middle Search Plus also contains 84,074 biographies, 86,135 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 107,135 photos, maps and flags. This database is updated daily on EBSCOhost.
