Did you know that you can earn college credits while you are in high school?  Qualified high school students can earn college credits to fulfill college degree requirements. These same credits can be used toward a degree at Kentucky State University or another state of Kentucky public institution of your choice. However, if you are considering attending a private and/or college outside of the state of Kentucky, you may wish to verify the courses will be accepted toward your degree.

It’s never too early to start thinking about college. Kentucky State University is here to help you excel!

About Our Program

Dual enrollment (DE) is a successful acceleration mechanism that allows students to pursue an advanced curriculum relevant to their individual postsecondary interests. According to the U.S. Department of Education, college credit earned prior to high school graduation reduces the average time-to-degree and increases the likelihood of graduation for participating students. There is also evidence that dual enrollment increases academic performance and educational attainment. Kentucky State University is committed to supporting you in providing this opportunity for our students.

Each year, hundreds of students experience college life through the Dual Enrollment program at Kentucky State University. Over the years, thousands of students have gotten an ‘early start’ and taken college courses towards their college degree. Students have the option of taking classes at Kentucky State University or online.

Students who wish to apply for participation in KSU’s dual enrollment classes must complete the online Dual Enrollment Application below, as well as, submit a completed and signed Dual Enrollment Counselor Recommendation Form to the Office of Admissions.  Registration for spring 2015 classes BEGINS on November 5, 2014 and CONCLUDES on January 16, 2015.
