Biography

A tenor, Vincent B. Davis holds degrees from Kentucky State University, Bowling Green State University and currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Kentucky School of Music.

Audiences of North America, Germany, and Italy have embraced his full- bodied lyric tenor in concert, opera, and oratorio. He made his operatic debut with the Theatre am Gœterplatz in Bremen Germany as Robbins in Porgy and Bess, a role he recently performed in Dayton Opera’s 50th Anniversary production. Thereafter, he made appearances with the Alte Oper of Frankfurt Germany. Highlights of previous seasons include extensive recitals and concerts throughout Italy with interpretations of Ferrando from Cosi fan tutte and Alfredo from La Traviata.

An established concert artist, Mr. Davis has also made appearances in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, New York, Atlanta, and Indianapolis. His oratorio credits include tenor soloist in Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ, Handel’s Messiah, Alexander’s Feast, and Haydn’s Creation. He has also performed as tenor soloist in Schubert’s Mass in A flat and Handel Messiah with Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the role of St. Nicolas in Benjamin Britten’s St. Nicolas cantata recently with the Yellow Springs chamber orchestra. Upcoming performances include Belmonte in Mozart’s Die Antfürung aus dem Serail in Consuma, Italy.
