Driver Responsibility
The responsibility of finding an authorized parking space rests with the driver. Lack of parking space, mechanical problems, inclement weather conditions or other disabilities are not considered valid excuses for violation of traffic and parking regulations.
A parking permit does not guarantee the holder a parking space; it is an opportunity and permission from the university to park within a specified area or areas. Drivers should be aware that spaces in prime locations tend to fill up first.
Failure of the university to strictly enforce any parking regulation shall not be construed as a waiver for the future enforcement of the regulation.
An individual is responsible for parking tickets issued to vehicles registered in his/her name or to his/her family. A parking permit signifies an individual has been granted the privilege of parking on university property. Ownership of the parking permit remains with the university.
Parking permits or passes must be displayed according to the parking regulations or special instruction provided by the Parking Office at the time of issuance. A parking permit is not considered valid unless it is displayed correctly on the vehicle.
Drivers are to park between the two white lines; yellow curbs and hashed out areas are designated fire lanes or no parking zones. Yellow marked areas are tow-away zones and must be kept clear at all times.
If you are parked illegally, you may be open to getting your vehicle towed.
