The School of Computer Science at Kentucky State University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees that prepare students well for a career of life-long learning in the areas of computer science, computer security and networking, information technology, and digital gaming.


Programs

Master of Science in Computer Science

Our Master of Science in Computer Science program is designed for students with Computer Science backgrounds as well as those without a background inother fields of study.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

The Bachelors in Computer Science offers the following options as Majors: Computer Information Security, Computer Information Systems, Game Development,  Network Engineering and Mathematics.

Minor in Computer Science

Students may also choose a Minor in Computer Science by completing 21 semester credit hours.

Certificate Programs

We also offer three certificate programs: Cyber Security Certificate, Network Associate Certificate and Network Professional Certificate.

Dual Credit Courses

The Division of Computer Science offers dual credit in Intro to Computers and Principles of  Computer Science to the local service area. This dual enrollment for high school students reinforces content knowledge and college readiness while providing access to college credit.


Teaching Philosophy

Courses are designed to enable graduates to analyze, design, and develop computer and information systems, networks, and games. Introducing graduates to today’s prevailing programming languages, frameworks, tools, and industry best practices will pave the way for successful careers in the highly-demanded STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields with the greatest potential of growth in the 21st century economy.
